On 3rd December, we held our annual Winter Pimm’s Networking event at Barossa in Camberley, in partnership with Surrey Wildlife Trust.
This was a special one, as it was our 10th anniversary. And after the last 18 months, it was wonderful to be able to get outside in the fresh air, see some faces we hadn’t seen in a while, do good for the local wildlife and get in the festive mood!
After the welcome from our MD, Steve, and the safety briefing from Ross form Surrey Wildlife Trust, the tree chopping began!
Why this work is so important to the Wildlife Trust
The land at Barossa is covered in non-indigenous Scots Pine, which is harmful to the heath land habitat below it. The lowland heath is an extremely rare habitat, that is home to a variety of protected species, that simply cannot survive anywhere else. So the work everyone did on the day was vital.
Lunch was provided by the Ben, the Head Chef from Login Business Lounge. He helped everyone refuel with delicious mini pork baguettes topped with a Cuban chimichurri.
After lunch, we headed back out on the common to clear as much as we could before it got dark.

A big thank you…
We’re delighted to say that we raised over £2,000 for Surrey Wildlife Trust and we want to say a huge thank you to Surrey Wildlife Trust and Thames Basin Heath for looking after us on the day, to our partners Login Business Lounge, Collectively Camberley, CMPP and Surrey Chambers, and of course everyone that came on the day – we really couldn’t have done it without you!
