We are huge supporters of Oakleaf, the mental health charity based in Guildford, who provide work related training for those suffering from mental health issues. They also offer counselling with BACP and BPS registered counsellors to help aid people’s recovery.
When we heard that they were looking for volunteers to help pack Christmas hampers for their clients, we jumped at the opportunity to help out.
Steve (our MD), Phil (our Operations Manager), Craig (one of our Team Leaders) and Chris (one of our techies) got their face masks and hand sanitiser ready and headed down to Oakleaf HQ for a (socially distanced) briefing from Jen, Oakleaf’s Fundraising & Partnership Manager.
And then they set to work, packing 50 of the hampers (kindly funded by local businesses) that will be given to Oakleaf’s clients for Christmas.
The work that Oakleaf do is important, but it’s been particularly key this year during the pandemic. Mental health issues have been at an all-time high, and as we head in to the festive season, the work they continue to do is vital.
