Microsoft are integrating the Teams and Forms apps. They aim to create a brand new way for meeting presenters to poll attendees in a Teams meeting.
How will this effect you?
This feature will be available on Teams desktop (Windows and Mac) and Teams on the web.
A meeting presenter can add the Form app as a tab within a Teams meeting. Before the meeting starts you will be able to create draft polls then during the meeting you can create and launch polls for the attendees to view and answer.
It’s worth noting that all the attendees will be able to see the poll results in real time. the respondents can also respond to a poll after the meeting as long as the poll has not been closed.
Once the meeting if over you, as the meeting presenter, can evaluate the poll responses within the meeting tab, you can also export the answers to an Excel workbook or review them on the web in the Forms app.
What do you need to do to prepare for this change?
There is nothing you need to do to prepare for this change, although it is worth noting that a meeting organiser can set who should be the meeting presenter when creating the Teams meeting or after the meeting has begun.
When can you expect this to happen?
This update will begin roll out in mid November and will be complete mid December 2020.
