Wormable Vulnerability in Windows DNS Server
July 15, 2020

There is a dangerous vulnerability affecting Windows Domain Name System (DNS) Servers. It’s wormable, which means it has the potential to spread the virus between vulnerable servers, without any user interaction.

Where one of our customers has Server Management, then we have taken care of applying the patch for them.

But, others should manually check that their Automatic Windows Updates have gone through, or carry out the Registry change ASAP.  Especially if they are using an older, out-of-date, operating system – as Windows Update won’t be protecting them.

For full details, please read this announcement from Microsoft.

If you’re a projectfive customer and you have any questions about this, please give our friendly team a call on 01276 455455 and we’ll be happy to help.
