Covid-19: a message to our customers from our CEO
March 17, 2020

Hello,

These are interesting times.  And, it’s in interesting times like these where we can come together and support each other.

I want to reassure our customers and friends of the measures we are taking at projectfive to help everyone get through this.  As you can imagine, being an IT company, we have an extensive Business Continuity plan with excellent ability to work remotely and support all of our customers.  We are ready to implement this in full, should the need arise.

In the meantime, we’re taking a number of precautionary steps.  For example, should any of our team show possible symptoms of Covid-19, or live with someone who is, they are self-isolating and working from home immediately.  We have a young, fit workforce and need to make sure we can get to you and help keep your own businesses running.  But, at the same time, we need to ensure that the people who do come to visit you are not carrying the virus themselves – hence why those showing signs are self-isolating quickly.

We are refraining from implementing a full working from home policy for as long as possible, as much of the work that we do involves being onsite – both in our office (to build new laptops for you, as just one example) and in your offices (to install those new laptops, or deal with an emergency outage on your systems).  It’s important that we maintain the ability to come to help you when necessary.

We have taken many of the precautionary measures that you will be taking in your own businesses.  We have Industrial-Sized Hand Sanitiser refills, so that our team can top up their own bottles.  We have a robust communication process in place, should we need to change anything at short notice.  And, we are following the Government’s advice on attending gatherings and events.  These are just a few of the measures we’re taking.

We do have concerns, though.  We are in regular contact with our Distributors and Couriers to ensure that we can continue to source equipment for you.  And, we are worried about the effect on cashflow in the coming months if this continues to cause disruption in the way the Government is predicting.  But, we’re resilient, so will find ways to address these challenges.

Most importantly, though, we’re here to help.

We’re helping our customers implement new technologies, at short notice, to facilitate Remote Working – but, at the same time, we’re not treating this as a blatant sales opportunity and recommending solutions that are frivolous.  If you look at our website and YouTube channel, you will see lots of videos and information that will help you understand some of these tools (like Microsoft Teams, for example).  These are all freely available to anyone, whether you’re a customer or not.

Our team are actively helping each other, our customers, our neighbours, friends and family.  Supporting our local community is really important to us.

So, if there’s anything you need, please make sure you shout.  Together, we will come through this.

Steve
CEO, projectfive.
