There’s a cool little trick in Outlook which allows you to prevent the recipient of your email from forwarding it on.
Here’s how it works in Outlook on the Web:
-
-
- Create a new message.
- Click the Encrypt button, then click on Change permissions.
-
3. A drop-down menu will appear and you can select Do Not Forward and then Ok.
When the recipient receives the email, it will have a red symbol which indicates that actions are restricted.
If they open the email and try to forward it, a pop-up will appear, advising them that they cannot perform this action.
Here’s how it works in the Outlook Desktop App:
-
- Create a new email
- Select the Options tab, then in the Permissions section, select Do Not Forward
- Create a new email
3. This message will appear at the top of your email, confirming that the person cannot forward, print or copy the content.
When the recipient receives the email, it will have a red symbol which indicates that actions are restricted.
If they open the email and try to forward it, a pop-up will appear, advising them that they cannot perform this action.
And if the recipient tries to print screen the email, the whole of Outlook will be censored by turning black.
