The New Outlook on the Web
September 25, 2018

Microsoft are now allowing Target Release customers to try out the early version of the new Outlook on the Web.

If you are a Target Release customer, you’ll see a toggle in the top right-hand corner of your inbox which says ‘Try the new Outlook’ – and a simple click will allow you to see all the new Outlook on the web features for mail, calendar and people. And you can dip in and out of the new version as much as you like.

Here are some of the new features you can try out in the early version of the new Outlook on the web.

There are certain emails you can’t miss – and now you have a way to make sure they stand out with ‘favourites’. You can add people, files or categories to your Favourites to make sure you never miss a thing.

Outlook now saves you even more time but anticipating what you are going to search for, based on your recent conversations and people you work with the most.

Suggested Replies

Suggested Replies is a feature that is designed to save you time when only a short reply is required. Using intelligent technology, it only takes a couple of clicks.

We all know how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to find a file in your inbox.

The new Outlook on the web has a files icon (where your mail/calendar/people icons are at the bottom-left of your mailbox) which shows you all the files you’ve sent or received in your inbox.

Simplified Event Creation

With updated icons, you can now quickly add things to your calendar and easily identify events and use location suggestions to get address details.

Smart Room Suggestions

This is something we’ve been waiting for! Outlook will be able to suggest which meeting room is most suitable for you, based on the attendees, time and availability.

More ways to use and manage Groups in Outlook

After taking on board lots of feedback, Microsoft has improved existing features, such as faster and easier group creation, more efficient group email management and will introduce new features such as group Files view, which allows you to focus on the latest file activity and group management in the People module.
