The latest Windows 10 April 2018 update launched at the end of April and is already causing a positive stir on social media.
The theme of the update seems to focus on saving you time, with the team at Microsoft keen to let us know that “we want to give you back some of your greatest currency, your time. Our hope is that you’ll have more time to do what matters most to you – create, play, work or simply do what you love.”
Timeline: we’ve all been there – you’re looking for that document you wrote or that photo you took, but no matter how much you dig through your files, you just can’t find it. Timeline is a new feature that can help! It allows you to go back in time up top 30 days to find your stuff.
Focus Assist: working online is full of distractions – emails, social media, app notifications. You can use Focus Assistant when you need to get into the zone without distraction. You can set it to turn on at specific times during the day and when you’re finished, you’ll get a summary of the notifications that cam through while you had it switched on.
Updates to Microsoft Edge: you can now click the audio button to mute and unmute a tab that is playing music. Online shopping has been made easier too, as you can securely save your address, payment and other information.
Dictation: the improved dictation feature captures your thoughts quickly and accurately, allowing for a smoother experience.
Voice control: when you have Cortana enabled on your Windows 10 PC, you can manage your smart home from your PC using your voice.
