When we’re not busy fixing computers, we love nothing more than being able to support our friends in the community.
So we were delighted to be able to sponsor a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the fabulous Guildford Shakespeare Company.
The performance took place in Racks Close; a former chalk quarry in Guildford, with multi-level grass banks and meandering paths, which set the scene beautifully for an evening of enchantment.
Before the action started, we planned to enjoy a picnic in the sunshine. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t quite get the memo…
But being jolly British, we soldiered on – ponchos and all – and refused to let the rain spoil our evening!
Despite the rain continuing throughout the whole performance, the cast carried on undeterred, like the true professionals they are, giving a stunning performance of a Shakespeare classic. And we loved them all the more for it!
One of our guests summed it up perfectly:
“I thought that good weather was a key part of enjoying an outdoor-evening in England. Turns out that was wrong – the only thing you need is talented entertainers.”
Thank you to our guests who joined us for an unforgettable evening – the way in which you embraced the conditions and turned it into an adventure was inspiring.
