One of the nicest things about working at projectfive is that we’re a close-knit team. We high-five each other’s successes and get the donuts out when someone needs a little pick-me-up.
So you can imagine our excitement when we found out that our MD, Steve, had been nominated by business leaders in the region (and extensively interviewed!) and announced as a finalist for Director of the Year at the awards ceremony held by the Institute of Directors for London and the South East.
The Director of the Year Awards celebrate the very best in UK business. They are a public recognition of the key role that directors play, not only in the UK’s economy but also in job preservation and creation. They place emphasis on individual excellence and achievement – and we couldn’t think of a worthier finalist (yes we’re biased, but yes it’s true!).
Regardless of whether or not he goes on to win the award, we wanted Steve to know that we are immensely proud of him and here are just some of the reasons why:
“Steve works tirelessly to ensure projectfive is the best known outsourced IT Support company in Surrey, often attending at least one or two networking events each day. There is always a pipeline of new and exciting business that is knocking at our door, thanks to his energy and enthusiasm when speaking with people. He is a great coach to the team, and motivates all of us to achieve more and develop and grow with projectfive.”
Sarah Giles, Operations Director
“Steve sees the potential in people that they don’t see in themselves and is happy to devote time and resources so that they can achieve their best. He believes that the way you achieve something is as important as what you achieve in the end.”
Phil Dear, Support Manager
“I think it’s great that he has such a high level of trust in us; allowing us the freedom as support engineers to deliver the service that’s expected from our customers.”
Richard Ayling, Support Engineer
“Working with Steve, you can tell that he truly and deeply cares and lives by our three aims: to help people, make friends and stand out. It’s at the core of everything that he does and feeds in to everything that we all try to do at projectfive; it’s infectious! You can’t help but to try and live up to it. He’s just got a personality that inspires people.”
Michael Hamer, Account Manager
“Steve has a great gut instinct, particularly when it comes to getting the right people in for the job. He has a way about him that makes our projectfive team excel in every way!”
Scott Coates, Support Engineer
“He is always there if you need help, but he doesn’t micro-manage anyone. He has a high level of trust in the team to keep the business flowing when he is out meeting new clients. Steve makes a real effort to get to know his team members and makes everyone feel like part of the projectfive family.”
Sharlene Paterson, Helpdesk Manager
Good luck Steve – we’re all rooting for you!
