Business Networking at the First Friday Badminton Club
March 30, 2009

Business Networking at the First Friday Badminton Club

We have been running our First Friday Badminton club for a few months now, and I have to say that, as a business networking event, it seems to be hitting the spot.

Each month we have 30 people attending – and everyone gets to play 5 or 6 Badminton matches with different team mates, against different opposition, and meet business leaders from local companies in the process!

Then, to round off the evening, we head to the bar for a couple of drinks and a chance to share stories of victory or defeat on the courts.

It’s great to see people having fun – Badminton is a great sport for playing socially as, whatever your ability or fitness level, you’ll always be able to have go.  It’s also great to see so many people swapping business cards at the end of the evening – there’s been some great connections made, and such introductions have a positive effect on business.

If you haven’t made it along to one of the evenings yet, then keep an eye out for the invites.  We send them via email at Friday Lunchtime, two weeks before the event.  Places go quickly – so be sure to reply quickly to secure your place on this popular event.

It’s one of the more enjoyable ways to network with other local businesses.

But, don’t take our word for it, look at these quotes to see what people have to say about the First Friday Badminton Club…

Mel and Alec at Badminton

Mel McCrum, Partner at Wheelers Solicitors, and Alec Sanderson, Director at Points Align, enjoy a match at the First Friday Badminton Club with projectfive.

Could I just say what an excellently organised and well run event your badminton evening was last Friday. It was a great opportunity to meet up with other local business in a relaxed and informal environment.
I had forgotten how much fun playing badminton was and I look forward to the next evening ( I may even practice before this one!!). Keep me on the list for future events. Thanks for your time and hospitality.
Graeme Winship, Director of Logistics, Bisley Office Furniture

What a brilliant evening – it was a great way to meet local businesses, and really enjoyable too.
I hadn’t played Badminton for a while – but it was all so relaxed and friendly that I was soon in the swing of it again.  Thank you for organising the evening and I’m looking forward to the next one.
John Biffen, Partner, Menzies
