Watts Gallery – new Information Point and Visitors Centre.
The Watts Gallery closed on 28th September 2008 and is due to re-open late 2010. During their extensive £10 million restoration, the Information Point and Shop will be open to visitors.
We have been working closely with the Watts Gallery, based in Compton near Guildford, for 1 year now, preparing for the closure of the gallery, moving staff into temporary offices and designing the IT infrastructure for the restoration of the gallery.
The new Information Point will allow visitors to keep in touch with how the restoration is progressing, and give them a focal point for the Watts Gallery. Here you will be able to access the on-line collections database, find out more about the progress of the gallery restoration, view the architectural plans and scale model, and buy a range of books and gifts.
Alongside the Information Point, the Watts Gallery have released a new website. Steve has been working closely with their Marketing Manager to redesign the new website. The site went live last week and is already generating some very positive feedback. The site will be updated regularly and will track the progress of the gallery. Go to www.wattsgallery.org.uk to find out more.
