Hello!

You've been asking for a newsletter for some time now - but I've been hesitant. How can we keep the newsletter interesting? How can we make sure we're giving you something useful?

I think we've found the right formula - There's something topical, something you can use in business, and something you can use at home. There's a guest article from someone outside of the team, and some personal news. And, to top it all, we'll be giving away some free advice.

Now, I know that your inbox is full of things that you've been meaning to read. But, with your help, we can make sure the projectfive newsletter is something you'll look forward to receiving.

Please let me have your feedback and suggestions - and let's keep this newsletter useful!

Steve Coburn.

No More Windows XP

From the 30th June 2008, Microsoft no longer officially sells Windows XP on new computers. Since then, they have given Windows XP an extra lifeline - but time is running out if you want to purchase another copy.

What does this mean to you, and what are your options when Windows XP is no longer available? Click here to read the full article...

"Let’s Talk Some More" - Graham Whittle

“Let’s Talk Some More”.  That is what we would all like to hear someone say when we introduce ourselves to other people.  “John, what you do sounds really interesting.   Let’s arrange to meet to talk some more.  Have you got your diary with you?”

The challenge is how do we make what we do sound interesting and, more importantly, of potential value. The question that you typically have to answer is, “So tell me, what is it that you do?”   This is such an innocent question.  Yet how you answer it will strongly influence what happens next.

Since many of us invest so much of our time and marketing spend on networking, it pays to have a good answer...”

What does the recession mean to us?

Like many of you, I’m frustrated by the constant focus on the ‘negative’.  I’ve spoken with many businesses during the last six months, and we’ve watched as the press have ‘talked’ us into a recession.  It’s hard to hear good news above all the doom and gloom – I guess it doesn’t sell papers!

But, if we ignore the stories in the press and focus on what’s happening on a day-to-day basis, I have to say that we’re fortunate because... (read more)

What are we doing this month?

We've got a busy month ahead of us - there's the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (watch out for pictures of us dressed in Edwardian Clothes driving 100 year old cars); the final push to get everything out of the Watts Gallery before the Builders come in; preparations begin for BETT09 in January; our bright new orange uniforms have arrived; two new SMART Cars are being readied for the team; and, of course, the usual everyday Support queries that we deal with.

Badminton

And - we're still looking to launch our much-hyped Badminton evening. We're searching for a suitable venue with 4 Badminton Courts available for two hours - then we'll be sending out the invites to this regular fun and friendly evening of networking and badminton!
