Mobile Gadgets

We all love gadgets – but, more importantly, they do have a role in business – if you understand their limitations!

Mobile Email
The iPhone, the Windows Mobile Phone, the Blackberry – they all do the same thing – but not all were created equal.  Which one is the best for you?  We test the latest gadgets when they release (because we’re like that) and we understand how they work in the real word.  For instance, the Apple iPhone won’t work after 6pm (because the battery has died), and the Blackberry is very expensive if you want to enable all the functionality that you get for free with a Windows Mobile phone.  The only way to be sure you get what you need, is to talk to us.

UMPC
The Ultra Mobile PC is not only ultra-mobile – it’s also ultra-cheap!  How does £149.99 for a lightweight laptop grab you? These UMPCs (or NetBooks) have the same power as a Windows XP PC from a couple of years ago, and yet they cost next-to-nothing, and are very portable.  But battery life can be an issue, and the keyboard on some of them are designed for a 6-year old.  But, they do have a place in business, and we love them!

Tablet PC
Touchscreen is the future of computing.  Why move a mouse to point to the screen, when you can just use your finger?  It’s the most natural thing in the world – just point!  And it doesn’t end there – grab a pen and scribble on the screen to make amendments to those important documents.  Make annotations in the margins.  Tablet PCs have been around for a while now, and with the advent of Windows Vista, they are more versatile than ever.  Apple are in on the act too, with the iPhone – watch this space for their release of the iBook touchscreen (Apple’s take on the Tablet PC – it won’t win market share, but it will change the way that people look at touchscreen).

Portable Projector
We’ve all seen the LCD projector, and we’ve all used it for our presentations in PowerPoint.  But, did you know that you can get them so small that they fit in your brief case alongside your laptop?  And they cost less than your laptop too?  Don’t be caught carrying around an extra bag – go small and light with the latest projectors today!

Mobile Broadband (3G)
A connection to the Internet is essential – and, if you choose the right laptop, that connection is built in.  That’s right; laptops now come with built-in 3G connections!  Whenever you are out of the office, you will be able to connect to the Internet.  And, as the mobile phone operators catch on, that internet access is unlimited – no longer do you have to pay for the megabyte.  Talk to project five to see what difference it will make to your business.
